HISTORY:
Well, my parents died is 1999, and I used to live here before that and then I was separated from my brother as we moved around. It is great to be back and I hope I make a lot of friends here!
SPEECH:
The teacher stood in front of the classroom and Minako was forced to stand next to her as the students all stared at Minako. Minako wasn't exactly one to hold her tongue but introductions? They were a bit awkward like this. And when the teacher announced that she was to give a speech as to who she is Minako felt a nervous grinding in her stomach. What was there to say? She wasn't even really sure. Was she supposed to announce that she used to live here but got moved away because of the death of her parents? Or was she supposed to just say her name and move on. She went through to list of possibilities before stepping forward, following the urging gesture of the teacher.
Minako opened her mouth before snapping it closed again, looking around. But then she drew in a deep breath and just went for a basic introduction.
"Hello, my name is Minako... I like to draw and I like music and... Well... I like manga cafe's and... I like to hang out with friends... I just hope that I fit in here" she said as she bowed her head slightly, her hands folded in front of her. She wasn't sure... Was that good enough? She looked over at the teacher who did smile slightly but that told Minako nothing. The teacher waved her off though and Minako let out a sigh of relief as she made her way back to her desk with a somewhat skip in her step. She still seemed full of energy, no matter how nervous that made her. She liked socializing, but the idea of standing in a room full of strangers and explaining who she was, was a little... Well, the word awkward still fits. But she felt like she did pretty okay, though it could have gone better.
